A little experiment.
I’ll be wearing this new piece for the next couple of days, to see how it feels, to see how I like it. If it passes the test, it will get a pretty name, some fancy pictures, and its own little corner of the website.

You guys, I’m back from Tucson and I got so many pretty stones. They’re in mail on the way here as we speak, I’ll share a few pictures after they arrive.
I had the best intentions to take a ton of photos at the gem show, to try and give you a sense of the hugeness of it all. Honestly, it was so overwhelming and so incredibly packed with people, I found it pretty difficult to think about pictures. But I managed a few, and I think these will give you the idea.
Shopping the show amounts to wading through thousands of people in order to edit a handful of stones out of tens of thousands of square feet of this:

At a certain point, your eyes don’t work the same anymore, and you just stop trying to plan out how you’ll use something, and just buy on instinct.
Every year I come home, look at my loot, and wonder what the hell I was thinking about at least half of it. Don’t worry, usually most stones eventually start to make sense and work their way into the designs. Sometimes it just takes a year or three!

First up is the Cyber Monday sale!
Here’s the deal: it’s Monday only, and the sale code will be given to Facebook fans and mailing list subscribers, as a little holiday thank you gift. If you’d like take advantage of the sale, “like” Minoux on Facebook or email kristen@minouxjewelry.com and ask to be put on the mailing list.
And some important holiday order deadlines:
DECEMBER 11—LAST DAY TO PLACE HOLIDAY ORDERS FOR SHIPPING WITHIN THE US
DECEMBER 1—LAST DAY TO PLACE HOLIDAY ORDERS FOR SHIPPING TO CANADA
So sorry, all other international orders cannot be guaranteed for holiday delivery.
If you happen to miss the deadline, we’re working like busy bees to implement a gift certificate option for the website. It should be up and running in the next week, and it can be purchased and redeemed at any time, with no expiration date! You will have the option to print out the certificate to give to the lucky giftee, or simply email it to them.
As a last-minute shopper myself, I’m hoping this option will make it a little easier on all you procrastinators out there!
Ok, this is it, the entire new collection will be up on the site this Monday. The final lookbook pictures aren’t back from the developer until tomorrow, so forgive me if everything isn’t up bright and early Monday morning, but it will all arrive at some point during the day. One last little sneak peek up there, the Three Rivers necklace. And in case you missed it, the Olallie necklace is already live on the website.
Finishing this collection has been quite the endeavor—at least three rounds of edits and revisions, two lookbook shoots, (one all the way across the country!) and countless moments of self-doubt and questioning. I don’t know why this one has been so challenging, but I certainly have learned a few things along the way. Thank you for hanging in there with me!

Wow, New York was a whirlwind, and it rained a lot, which made me feel at home, ha!
Despite the weather, the photoshoot was a blast; it was incredible to work with such experienced professionals, and all super lovely people to boot.
I’m planning a little “behind the scenes” post, but for right now, here’s an advance look at one of my favorite necklaces from the new collection. It’s a statement piece for sure, but incredibly versatile. I’ve been wearing it with practically everything, from t-shirts to a fancy dress. I honestly think it brightens my mood whenever I put it on.
And for you fans of the more delicate Minoux designs, don’t worry, the new collection has wee sweet things for you too, just wait!

What’s the saying? You’ve got to break a few eggs to make an omelet? I think something like that is happening on my workbench up there.
This is the longest it’s ever taken me to finish a new collection, but so far I’m thrilled with the results, and I can’t wait until I can share it with you all. And here’s some news: Soon I’ll be on my way to New York to shoot the look book with a fantastic photographer. So this collection has got to be finished, and soon!
Add that deadline to the Fuchsia designer showcase this Friday and Saturday, plus regular orders, and you have a very busy Kristen. So I’m going to be a little scarce around these blog parts for the next two weeks, but never fear, the intrepid Sally has a ton of great posts lined up, you guys won’t even miss me!
But hey, if you remember, cross your fingers and click your heels for me, won’t you? I’m going to need a little magic to help everything fall into place.
