I thought I’d share a picture of the new duck and the progress made on her pond this last weekend. She’s a muscovy, the only domestic duck not evolved from wild mallards. She can’t quack, and only makes the sweetest gentle whistling sound. Isn’t she a beaut?

And here’s how I spent Saturday, arranging rocks around her pond. The rocks actually serve a more functional than decorative purpose, they secure the pond liner in place and cover up the unsightly rubber edges. I still need to put in lots more plants, but hopefully in a year or so, the whole thing will look like it’s just always been there.

This weekend was our first real sun in Portland for almost six months, and being outside all day lugging rocks and digging out grass was the best vacation I’ve had in a long time.

Thanks to Refinery 29, I have a new addiction. You might even say I have MSGM overdose! Because a recent article on their lovely blog turned me on to a new and talented designer: Massimo Giorgetti.

I wasn’t the least bit surprised to find out that this Italian is also a DJ, given the fun he has mixing and matching bold prints with such ease—the results are always stunning! And though these pictures are from his Fall 2012 collection, I think that the bright colors, snazzy prints (fireworks, hello!) and luxurious textiles fit into the season (and, ahem, my wardrobe) just fine!

Check out all of MSGM’s offerings, and be sure and tell us what you think!

A wonderful email appeared in my inbox the other day—a bride sent some candid photos from her wedding, with her bridesmaids wearing the Slice necklace. Aren’t those ladies all just too adorable? And I love that she picked the Slice, it’s a creative choice that complements her fun colorful day.

Even though I make jewelry for a fair number of weddings, I rarely get to see the pictures. So these shots are quite the treat, especially with the bride’s sweet note:

Thanks again for the beautiful necklaces your store made for my
bridesmaids for my wedding on June 18. They loved them and are already
re-wearing them, I’m pleased to report.

Sandy

Thank you for making my day, Sandy!

Yesterday was a good day. The clear warm gorgeous kind of sunshine that puts a grin on Portland’s collective face, and the tryst necklace featured on Oh Joy!

I tell you what, I’m feeling pretty grateful for all the internet love the Spring collection has received. Thank you Joy and Bekka!

Enter any location on the planet (Iceland?), and watch the Rorschmap create a mesmerizing    composition, like a Rorschach test. Via Apt. Therapy.

Honestly WTF asked readers to submit pics of their arm parties, some great ones on their Facebook    page.

What about you, any special plans for the weekend, or awesome links to share?

PS. I lied, Sally will be introducing herself next week, not this week. But you know she’s worth the wait!
