I admit it, I love words. That’s why I’m all gushy and excited about savethewords.

Apparently the English language is losing words by the hundreds each year and we have settled into using a mere 7,000 of, well, a quarter of a million on the very conservative side. This misquemes me. So Oxford Dictionary suggests we Adopt-A-Word to help keep our language lively!

If you love words too, get over your pigritude and hie thee to the site for your own pet word.

My adopted word? Woundikins: mild oath. As in, ”I wish you wouldn’t sprinkle your conversation with such woundikins, my dear.”
